BELGRADE First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told daily Nase novine that an announced government reshuffle would be done soon. Daily Vecernje novosti writes that leaders of the ruling coalition will start the reshuffle as soon as the European Council makes a decision on a date for the start of the EU accession negotiations. First deputy PM: Govt. reshuffle will be done soon “There will be a government reshuffle, we only need seven to ten days without stress and obligations regarding some crucial things we are doing now,” Vucic told Nase novine. When asked if the reshuffle could cause conflicts in the ruling coalition, he said that he did not think that an analysis of someone's work was a reason for conflicts and added that he believed that it was “beneficial”. “Besides, when we formed this government we agreed to check split time and if it turned out that someone is lagging behind or running late, we would replace that person,” the first deputy PM stressed. He added that the work of Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) ministers would also be analyzed. Vecernje novosti writes that changes will not only be made in ministries but in public companies as well and that the reshuffle will also include some mayors. According to the daily, Transport Minister Milutin Mrkonjic and Culture Minister Bratislav Petkovic are most likely to be dismissed. “I have not thought about the reshuffle and I do not listen to speculations. My job is to reconstruct roads and bridges in the country. The government makes a good team and it should keep working, instead of dealing with useless talks,” Mrkonjic told the daily. United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic will also have to replace some of his staff or renounce some positions. “The idea of the reshuffle was promoted by the biggest party of the majority, SNS, so it now depends on their decision whether the process will start,” URS deputy leader and Local Administration and Regional Development Minister Verica Kalanovic told Vecernje novosti. According to the daily, only ministers from parties that only have one minister in the government are not in danger of being replaced. Aleksandar Vucic (Beta, file) Tanjug Vecernje novosti
