The Democratic Party (DS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-led coalition could announce on Monday that they have the majority of 126 MPs, daily Press writes. The daily added that the Democrats and Socialists could form the majority without the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the United Regions of Serbia (URS). Daily: DS, SPS can form majority without LDP Press claims that the majority will be supported by ethnic minorities, the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) and Maja Gojkovic’s People's Party and that other parties are welcome to join the government if they support DS leader Boris Tadic's platform. The DS-led coalition won 67 seats in the parliamentary elections, while the SPS-led coalition won 44 seats. Together they have 111 seats, the daily writes. With Party of Democratic Action (SDA) two seats, SPO’s four, People’s Party’s two and seven seats of the ethnic minority parties, the DS and SPS will have the necessary majority, Press points out. The daily claims that SPO’s Aleksandar Jugovic and Gojkovic have already agreed with the DS leader. Jugovic told Press that the SPO would support the DS even if the LDP did not. The SPO is on LDP’s U-Turn electoral list. “The DS and SPS should first say who will form the government and the parties will gather around the government’s program, not around numbers or who will get some ministries,” Gojkovic explained.
