Mladjan Dinkic wants his party "cleansed" of those "whose brains have been sucked by money", and wants other parties to follow suit. This is what the regular G17 Plus electoral assembly, underway in Belgrade this Sunday and due to choose leadership that promises to be "more of the same", heard from the party leader and economy minister in the Serbian government. Dinkic denounces "brain-sucking money" Dinkic also said G17 Plus' internal reform is his condition for running for party president again. He stressed that G17 Plus priorities are accelerated European integrations and strengthening of the Serbian economy, adding that he "will not withdraw from those goals, regardless of attacks on the party". "When someone thinks they've achieved something with false attacks and that they will drive us away from this fight for Serbia the way we want her to be, know that we will be the strongest. We will not withdraw if riff-raff attacks us, but we will accept all benevolent suggestions." According to Dinkic, Serbia's road toward the EU is now "mostly up to Serbia that must maintain good relations with neighbors, instead of inventing conflicts". All those who wish to change the system and Serbia for the better will be welcome in the reformed G17 Plus, he also told the gathering. "All those whose brains have been sucked by money and who are in the party for personal interest no longer have a place in G17 Plus, but, the same thing goes for other larger parties in Serbia who have more members and positions and privileges," Dinkic said. Serbia, he continued, "should not be owned by any one party no matter how large it is". The party assembly had guests from Poland and Slovakia, and also hosted SDA leader Sulejman Ugljanin, Kragujevac Mayor Veroljub Stevanovic, and Aleksandar Cotric of the SPO. But reporters failed to spot anyone from the Democratic Party (DS). "All those who came are welcome, and those who have not, should answer what stopped them. It wasn’t raining, it wasn't snowing, there was no storm," commented G17 Plus official and Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic. G17 Plus is a member of Serbia's ruling coalition. They entered it via a pre-election coalition with the DS. Beside the president, the party will also elect four of his deputies today, where four candidates are running for four positions.
