BELGRADE Former Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Oliver Dulic could be sentenced to two to 12 years in prison if found guilty for abuse of office. Dulic is suspected of abuse of office during issuing of permits for mounting of optical cables. Ex-minister can face up to 12 years for abuse of office Police tried to arrest him on Saturday morning but he pleaded immunity. He then held a press conference and renounced his immunity. The former minister claimed he was innocent and that he had never broken any law. Dulic reported to the police on Saturday afternoon but an interview was postponed until parliament revokes his immunity. The Serbian parliament will on Monday discuss the parliamentary Administrative Committee’s proposal to revoke the former minister’s immunity. “The evidence and information obtained by the police so far show that the Law on Planning and Construction was broken during the issuing of eight permits to Belgrade-based Nuba Invest by the Environment and Spatial Planning Ministry and there is suspicion that three persons committed abuse of office,” Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic has said. The police also arrested former Assistant Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Nebojsa Janjic and former Roads of Serbia public company Director Zoran Drobnjak in connection with the case.
