The Prosecution should start presenting evidence in the trial of Ratko Mladic before the Hague Tribunal On July 9. It is expected that the Prosecution’s first witness will be Elvedin Pasic, who survived the execution of about 150 people in the village of Grabovica in November 1992. Prosecution to present evidence against Mladic on Monday Civil Affairs Officer and Political Advisor to UNPROFOR David Harland should testify after Pasic. Harland will testify about the situation in Sarajevo from 1993 until 1995 and about relations between Mladic and Radovan Karadzic. The Prosecution will as its third witness call former British Armed Forces Head General Richard Dannatt who should testify about the military command and control. According to announcements, a protected witness who survived the execution at a farm in Branjevo and UN Military Observer Mission member Joseph Kingori, who was in Srebrenica from March 1995 until July 1995, should also testify against Mladic. Doctors Without Borders nurse Christina Schmitz, who should testify on the situation in Potocari, and Dutch UN Battalion soldier Eelco Koster are also on the Prosecution’s witness list. The hearings will last until July 20 and a three-week summer break will then follow. Mladic is charged with genocide, crimes against humanity and violation of the law and customs of war.
