BELGRADE U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade Michael Kirby on Tuesday hosted a reception in celebration of American national holiday Independence Day. Addressing the gathering, he "expressed hope that relations between the United States and Serbia will continue to strengthen," Tanjug said. U.S. embassy hosts Independence Day reception "May the ties between the U.S. and Serbia continue to grow, expand and strengthen," Kirby told the nearly 3,000 guests. Among them were Serbia's top officials - President Tomislav Nikolic, his adviser Marko Djuric, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic, members of the government and parliament. U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker was also in attendance. U.S. embassy hosts Independence Day reception

"May the ties between the U.S. and Serbia continue to grow, expand and strengthen," Kirby told the nearly 3,000 guests.

Among them were Serbia's top officials - President Tomislav Nikolić, his adviser Marko Đurić, Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, Parliament Speaker Nebojša Stefanović, members of the government and parliament.

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker was also in attendance.

Belgrade Mayor Dragan Đilas and representatives of business circles, the military, media, culture, religious communities, political parties and the diplomatic corps were also present.
