  1. Mr Diplomticus, mentioned monument was violation of Serbian Law, that was internal Serbian matter and no one have right to put nose in it. Respect to Albanian minority but Law is obligation for them too.

  2. The meeting was canceled because of the unilateral action of the Serb Government to take down the memorial in Presevo, even though the two sides were near a OSCE sponsored compromise to move the memorial to a mosque. The OSCE office was disrespected because it was asked to act as an intermediary and then left wandering after a fait accompli by the Serb government.

We must remember that the war in Presevo Valley ended with an internationally sponsored AGREEMENT and AMNESTY for all combatants.

Many memorials to UCPMB have been raised throughout the Valley since the year 2000 and there never were any problems. It is fair to conclude that these new tensions are prepared in Belgrade in order to advance the idea that this situation is unsustainable and that the borders must change along ethnic lines. Exchange the north of Kosovo and its 40,000 Serbs with the Presevo Valley and its 100,000 Albanians. This is anachronistic because Europe and the Balkans are working to erase border (even the new one between Serbia and Kosovo), not redraw them and go to war over them.

Hey, this is the Balkans after all.
