The operators of Pirate Bay, the world’s biggest free file-sharing website, are back in court to appeal against their conviction for breaching copyright laws. A court in Stockholm found the group guilty last year of being accessories to copyright violations. Pirate Bay in court again over copyright breach But one of their lawyer’s believes they will walk free as no protected material was stored on their servers. “My client has only delivered the Internet capacity to the Pirate Bay site and you can’t commit a crime according to Swedish law just by giving people capacity, connecting them to the Internet,” says Per Samuelson. If the court rejects the appeal, the four men face a one year jail sentence and a fine of around three million euros each.
