The Serbian Orthodox Church has offered a prayer to God with the goal of stopping the rain and the floods in Serbia, the SPC website has said.

Church pleads with God to "stop rain and floods"

"Lord, do not surrender us completely to disaster, famine, and suffering, and let the huge water not flood us, but recall mercy in your wrath, and though we do not deserve it, have pity on us for the sake of your goodness, and as the good one have mercy on your creatures and the work of your hands, and quickly deliver us from all evil."

Several days ago, Serbia's minister without portfolio in charge of emergency situations, Velimir Ilic, asserted that "God is responsible for the flooding."
