Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian church was reported as saying that previous floods were used by God to attack the LGBT community, and that they were “divine punishment for their vices”, now the same Church asks the same God for some help, the hypocrisy is laughable.
More and more Countries and cultures around the World are now accepting that racism, sexism and homophobia are outdated concepts that can add no quality to the individuals or groups that continue to practice them, they can however proove to be devastating to the person or persons that are victimised in this way. Our community's and our children are still facing unnecessary social conditioning aimed at making people hate each other.
These homophobic comments are hate speech and this type of hate speech has become extremely obvious in the Orthodox Church.

Several days ago, Serbia's minister without portfolio in charge of emergency situations, Velimir Ilic, asserted that "God is responsible for the flooding."

In that case what do Serb taxpayers pay this minister for? They should rather pay the church to produce more prayers!

I have forgotten on several occasions forgotten to state (by mistake) the other reason why someone could suffer.---- "they that live godly in Christ will suffer persecution." 2Timothy 3:12. But if persecuted for the name of Christ, happy are ye! 1Peter3:14 and chapter 4:14.
