Around 1,000 Belgrade University students gathered in front of the Education and Science Ministry in downtown Belgrade in order to submit their requests. They are supposed to meet with Assistant Education Minister Slobodan Jankovic. Belgrade University students hold protest Slavija Square and a part of Nemanjina Street were closed for traffic around 14:00 CET. The protesting students stressed they would hand over their requests to Jankovic and then go to the Serbian government headquarters and express their dissatisfaction with tuition fees and requirements for enrollment into the next year. The students, who have been protesting for several days now, demand more examination periods, that students with 48 ESP points and more do not pay tuition fees and a strategy for the change of the way the higher education is financed. Students have announced that protests will also be held in Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac. More than 1,000 students held a protest in downtown Nis on Thursday to show support to their fellow students in other cities and demanded urgent negotiations with the Education Ministry. Slavija Square and a part of Nemanjina Street were closed for traffic around 14:00 CET.

The protesting students stressed they would hand over their requests to Janković and then go to the Serbian government headquarters and express their dissatisfaction with tuition fees and requirements for enrollment into the next year.

The students, who have been protesting for several days now, demand more examination periods, that students with 48 ESP points and more do not pay tuition fees and a strategy for the change of the way the higher education is financed.
