Serbia's national football team lost 2-1 to Australia this evening in South Africa, to end the competition at the bottom of Group D. Australia was up 2-0 in the game that came in the third, decisive round of the World Cup group stage, with second half goals from Tim Cahill and Brett Holman. Serbia out of FIFA World Cup Serbia's Marko Pantelic scored his team's only goal to set the final result. The defeat puts the squad's performance at two losses and one victory in the 2010 World Cup. In the other Group D match, Germany beat Ghana 1-0. Both teams qualified for the last 16, with Ghana surpassing Australia on better goal difference.
