Witnesses have begun to give testimony before the Novi Sad District Court in the case against water-polo player Danilo Ikodinovic. Ikodinovic is charged with causing a traffic accident on the Zrenjanin-Novi Sad road on June 27. A statement from the court reads that further investigative proceedings will include a forensic-technical examination, pointing out that the prosecution requested an investigation to be launched on August 27. Ikodinovic was questioned in court on October 10 because he had to resume treatment on October 13 in France. Ikodinovic’s lawyer Dragan Gojkovic told the media that his client had suffered severe head injuries and did not remember the details of the accident. Slobodan Beljanski, lawyer for the injured party Perica Dejanovic, told Novi Sad Radio 021 that his client had been questioned too, as had the tractor driver who witnessed the accident. Ikodinovic’s hand was severely injured after the accident, and he suffered life-threatening injuries.
