The Sunday papers have decided to dedicate most of their top stories to economic issues. BLIC – "Monopolists snatch EUR 500 from us annually" is looking at margins set by hypermarkets in Serbia, explaining that while the figure is at 8 percent on average elsewhere in Europe, Serbian retailers have introduced the whopping 30 percent. Press: Price hikes, state politics "Milk prices up again", reports about the third milk price hike in the past four months. On a lighter note, "Miss world comes from China" is the headline to a story about the outcome of the Miss World pageant. VECERNJE NOVOSTI – "Prices up to Triglav" refers to Slovenia's highest mountain peak but compares retail prices in the former Yugoslav republics. On the political front, President Boris Tadic's Democrats' main board meeting steals the limelight – "We will annul independence", the paper quotes the president who spoke about Kosovo. Nikolic says that another defeat at the hands of the Democrats' leader would mean the end of his political engagement. "State plans to legalize theft", is about announcements that the Directorate for Public Procurement could be abolished. KURIR – Back to the expensive milk issue, and the tabloid leads with, "A liter of milk costs one euro". "Fixing champions" explores whether Serbian clubs are involved in a brewing European match-fixing scandal, investigated by UEFA, and Interpol.
