Six ex-Genex executives arrested on corruption charges will remain in police custody for another 30 days. Ivana Ramic, a spokeswoman for the Belgrade District Court, which is processing the case, said Saturday that a judge has decided to open an investigation and look to charge them with abuse of office. Ex-Genex chief taken ill during interrogation Ramic confirmed that former Genex CEO, Milorad Savicevic, 72, was taken ill during an interrogation that lasted until "late in the night". Savicevic was taken to a top Belgrade military clinic where he is now receiving treatment. Beside Savicevic, Nebojsa Premovic, Vladimir Gajic, Petar Novakovic, Ivica Lukovic and Ljiljana Mladjan have also been arrested earlier this week. The former services and trade giant executives could face charges of abuse of office that led to a sale of 1.2 hectares of building land in New Belgrade in a free deal, without any tender procedure, which resulted in EUR 20mn damages to Serbia's budget.

Ex-Genex chief taken ill during interrogation

Ramić confirmed that former Genex CEO, Milorad Savićević, 72, was taken ill during an interrogation that lasted until "late in the night".

Savićević was taken to a top Belgrade military clinic where he is now receiving treatment.

Beside Savićević, Nebojša Premović, Vladimir Gajić, Petar Novaković, Ivica Luković and Ljiljana Mlađan have also been arrested earlier this week.

The former services and trade giant executives could face charges of abuse of office that led to a sale of 1.2 hectares of building land in New Belgrade in a free deal, without any tender procedure, which resulted in EUR 20mn damages to Serbia's budget.
