The Black Legion, the report added, was also the name of an "elite" Ustasha unit. The Ustasha regime was in power in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) - a WW2 Nazi-allied entity that ran death camps for Serbs, Jews, and Roma.
The team in question received an award from the local Catholic parish priest, Mario Knezovic, who was also photographed with the children.
