Gorenje Tiki workers have signed a petition opposing the moving of the company's production to Serbia, calling on the Slovenian government for help. The Slovenian company has, according to earlier reports, already begun moving parts of its production from Ljubljana to Stara Pazova in Serbia, where a new factory was built three years ago. The workers added that the moving of production to Serbia looks like a good decision at first glance for people who do not see the consequences of such a decision. “The state, as an owner, must be aware that the projects will not bring taxes to Slovenia, but will work to the advantage of the owners and foreigners in the best case scenario,” the workers stated. "Earnings will directly go to the foreign bank accounts of the owners, which cannot be in the best interest of this country,” the workers added. The company announced the move in March, and the administration guaranteed that the move would not affect employees in Ljubljana, because the point of the move is to decrease expenses and increase earning that would guarantee the development of Gorenje.
