Croatian PM Ivo Sanader called on Slovenia to unblock negotiations between Croatia and the EU, warning that the deadlock could dishearten neighboring states. “Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro are watching Croatia. If Croatia comes unstuck on its way to the EU, they might all come unstuck, so it is important for Slovenia to unblock the negotiations between Croatia and the EU, once Croatia shortly becomes a member of NATO,” Sanader said. “Slovene blockade could dishearten Balkan neighbors” Giving a lecture at the Philosophy University in Mostar on the topic of “Euro-Atlantic Integration and Security in South-East Europe”, he said that Slovenia was endangering the principle of solidarity by blocking Croatia’s path towards the EU.
