Kosovo is a new reality in the Balkans that everybody needs to accept, the Croatian President, Stjepan Mesic, said in Tirana today. "Kosovo is a reality in our region and everybody should learn to live with it. The only solution for the future of the region is regional cooperation and European integration," Mesic was quoted by BIRN. Kosovo is reality, says Mesic Croatia was the second former Yugoslav state to recognize Kosovo's unilateral independence after Slovenia, which holds the EU presidency. "Zagreb's move has angered officials in Belgrade, however, as well as shaking the center-right coalition government in Croatia, of which an ethnic Serb party is a member," BIRN reported. "We must stop being hostage of the past and the historical myths", Mesic said after meeting with Albanian counterpart Bamir Topi. Mesic, Topi, in Tirana today (Beta)
