Vucic: Serbia ready to be part of European solution

European states should agree to take up to 2 million genuine asylum-seekers and share them out fairly, Vucic told the paper during a recent visit to London.

“That is nothing for Europe,” Vucic said, noting that the figure is less than half a per cent of the EU population. “It is not a big deal. It can even create new value economically,” he said.

The EU should provide more assistance towards improving conditions in countries around conflict-torn Middle Eastern states and strengthen its borders - otherwise, Europe will risk being overwhelmed by migrants from even further afield, he said.
