"Hague Tribunal to be asked to postpone Seselj verdict"
Late last week, the tribunal announcedthat the verdict would be revealed on March 31.
The newspaper said Belgrade will by March 15 send a report to the tribunal presenting its arguments against arresting and extraditing Seselj during the election campaign.
This decision came "because the arrest of Seselj and the announcing of the verdict would cause political instability in the country during the campaign."
However, noted the article, Serbia's top state officials "do not expect the tribunal to postpone the verdict."
ICTY announced on Friday that Serbian authorities "are requested to take all necessary measures to ensure the defendant is in The Hague on the day of the verdict announcement and to inform the trial chamber about any problems that might possibly arise in the implementation of this order no later than March 15."
