Vucic: Education, healthcare reform in 2016

Attending the opening of a conference on innovation and knowledge transfer, focusing on opportunities for cooperation between Serbia and Italy, Vucic said that without a more advanced education there is no progress in economy either.

Without the “smart economic growth”, all the difficult steps we have taken would not have been enough. The readiness to adopt new ideas and build the entrepreneurial spirit is very important, said Vucic.

The prime minister noted that Serbia has lost its entrepreneurial spirit and work habits, and stressed that it is time to “return to the old path”.

I believe that one of the basic needs of the society, the need for economic prosperity, can only be met through better education, said Vucic, adding that science should serve broader social needs and economic development.

He added that this will require various incentive measures and a higher level of intellectual property protection.

Learning is more valuable than money. We are not asking anyone for money any more, as the transfer of knowledge is more important, the prime minister said.
