Vucic to travel to U.S., Albania, host Merkel in Belgrade

To illustrate this point and describe the gravity of the situation in the country, Vucic cited the example of "the goings-on related to milk," where, he said, "Bozidar Djelic and Bojan Pajtic made a criminal agreement, the worst possible contract on the SAA (with the EU)."

Vucic added that "we now must respect it, while those same people are presenting criticisms."

The prime minister then said that the agenda of his visit to the United States and meeting with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden was being prepared, and announced Merkel's visit to Serbia, but said he was "unable to specify" when it will take place.

Asked whether he will visit Russia, he said: "Yes, I will, but not yet."

Vucic told reporters he would be traveling to Washington "in order to make best possible bilateral relations with the United States because it is in our interest, as it is in our interest to have best possible relations with the Russian Federation," and once again stated that he finds the tasks that need to be carried out in Serbia to be "most important."

Vucic added that he was optimistic ahead of his May 27 trip to Albania, where he will go to "build good relations, because Serbia has a clear and good policy and is recognized as a pillar of stability."

Noting that his would be "the first visit of a Serbian prime minister to Albania in history," he said that, in addition to establishing better relations, he wants to talk about "everything that is currently dividing us," and believes it can be abridged "so that these differences are no longer so great."

Vucic said that "Serbia wants to highlight its European perspective and wish Albania luck on the way to Europe," and "stressed that Serbia will not give up on national and state interests, as Albania will not, either."

He us convinced that dialogue and conversation can overcome and resolve differences, stressing that "economic cooperation connects Serbia and Albania, which is a win-win situation, and we should work on that."

Noting that Albania after World War II was a closed country, Vucic observed that "Serbia was a bit closed in the last thirty years," for which reason, he says, it is "very important to open up investments of Albanian businesspeople in Serbia, but also of our investors in that country."
