BRUSSELS Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated in Brussels on Tuesday that the elements for closing a new agreement between Belgrade and Pristina are lacking at this point. That is why "relevant sides need to focus on the implementation of agreements reached in April 2013," he said. "No elements for new agreement with Pristina" The next agreement is yet to be reached, but the elements for such a step are lacking at this point, Dacic said replying to reporters' questions as to whether the first agreement on normalization of relations from April 2013 would be followed by another one in 2014. “We are still working on the implementation of previously reached agreements,” the prime minister said and noted that open issues cover the judiciary, constitution of a community of Serb municipalities, as well as some other topics on which the two sides have so far reached only a principled agreement, such as telecommunications and energy. Dacic said that there are certain problems which are yet to be discussed, such as property, the status of the Serbian Orthodox Church and Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo. "Parliamentary elections will be soon held there, which is why we need to establish the conditions on which Serbs could take part in the polls," Dacic said and noted that agreements on the said issues cannot be reached in the course of one or two rounds of the dialogue with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in Brussels.
