BELGRADE The atmosphere in the region is the best since the 90s, Serbia’s FM Ivan Mrkic has stated ahead of First Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic's visit to Zagreb. Vucic will pay an official visit to Zagreb on Monday. Regional relations “have never been better” Croatian Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic expects the visit to “mark progress in many open issues“. Pusic stated that Vucic would visit Croatia at her invitation and that the visit would represent a continuation of development of cooperation between the two neighboring countries. The Croatian Foreign Ministry has released that Vucic will, aside from Pusic, meet with Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, Deputy PM Neven Mimica and Defense Minister Ante Kotromanovic. The Croatian Foreign Ministry stressed that no documents would be signed during the meetings and pointed out that the visit would come in a moment of good cooperation between the two countries’ ministries and state institutions. Mrkic told B92 that the atmosphere in the region was maybe the best since the wars in the 90s. According to him, even though there were some problems in communication with Zagreb and Sarajevo in the beginning of the current government’s mandate, Belgrade has been trying to clearly express its good neighborly policy. The minister added that one of the goals of the regional policy was to solve problems from the past. He noted that the Serbian government was constantly working hard on reaching results that would lead to top-level meetings of all the countries in the region. Ivan Mrkic (Tanjug, file) B92
