The EU is waiting to see what stance the new Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić, will take on Kosovo, Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert has said.

The EU is waiting to see what stance the new Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, will take on Kosovo, Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert has said. Degert expressed the hope that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina would be resumed as soon as the new government was formed. EU waiting to hear Nikolic's stance on Kosovo, rep says Degert told daily Danas that the EU also wanted to see the implementation of the agreements reached so far, adding progress had been made when it came to civil registries and cadastres, mutual recognition of diplomas and so on. “Finding solutions to problems concerning daily lives of people and their full implementation is of crucial importance in the negotiation process,” stressed Degert. He said that he expected that the priorities of the new government would include the continuation of judicial reform, fight against corruption, implementation of a set of media laws, and a strategy to ensure macroeconomic stability.
