Opposition SNS calls for emergency session on Kosovo

The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has requested an emergency parliament session in order to put together a plan for administrative crossings in Kosovo. The party points out that Serbia needs the plan in case Pristina decided to take over the administrative checkpoints in northern Kosovo. Opposition SNS calls for emergency session on Kosovo SNS deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic has condemned the authorities’ inability to make any kind of plan regarding Pristina’s unilateral moves in Kosovo. “The SNS requests an emergency session where all MPs and the Serbian government would voice their opinion about Serbia’s plan and everything that we need to do if the international and the Albanian forces take over the administrative line,” Vucic explained. “The government’s wish not share responsibility with its political opponents at any cost even in the most difficult moments shows that they have gotten into some sort of political autism in which they are only interested in the elections and election results and not state and citizens’ problems,” he stressed. According to him, the SNS will request a report on the talks with Pristina “in order to see how we reached the agreement on the customs stamp” and whether the agreement is the source of all current problems. All political factors should sit down and think what they are going to do, he said. Vucic once again called for early elections due to poor economic and political situation in the country. Commenting on raspberry farmers’ protest, he said that the SNS supported them. “We believe that people needed to know the conditions six months or a year ago. They should have talked to the raspberry farmers sooner,” the SNS deputy leader pointed out. Pristina has announced that it will deploy Kosovo Albanian customs officers and policemen to the Brnjak and Jarinje administrative crossings once the agreement with KFOR expires on September 15, which Belgrade refuses to accept.
