Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci called on Serbia to sit at the same table as Kosovo officials in order to solve problems between Belgrade and Pristina. He told British daily “The Guardian” that talks are needed between Belgrade and Pristina in order to turn towards their future EU integrations. Kosovo PM calls for talks with Belgrade Thaci said that Kosovo is looking forward to cooperation with Serbia and discussing concrete questions in order to improve the lives of its citizens. He mentioned cooperation between the Serbian and Kosovo police in the fight against organized crime, and cooperation in the energy, telecommunications, education and missing persons sectors as well. The London daily states that Thaci is offering a new beginning in relations to Belgrade, “which is under great European pressure to respond similarly.” The daily states that the call for talks comes after an open warning given to Belgrade by British Foreign Secretary William Hague, who warned Serbia that it is hurting its chances of joining the EU by refusing talks with independent Kosovo.
