UN police tried to arrest Pristina Municipal Coordinator Slavisa Nikolic in the Serb enclave of Gracanica today. According to a statement from the Kosovo Ministry’s office in Kosovska Mitrovica, a UN police officer tried to arrest Nikolic this morning in the offices of the Pristina municipality, which have been moved to Gracanica, because he took part in organizing the elections in the province over the weekend. Beta news agency reported later today that UNMIK spokesman Alexander Ivanko said in Pristina today that there is "no order to arrest Serbs who were in involved in organizing of local and parliamentary elections in Kosovo". "This is an illegal attempt of arrest", Ivanko said and added his office will reveal more details about the incident as they receive them.
