Nenad Canak said his party’s youth members had printed the Vojvodina passports which appeared in that province. The president of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV) added that they had been intended as a joke. Vojvodina passports joke, says Canak “The passports [Infrastructure] Minister Velimir Ilic displayed are not travel documents, but souvenirs that youth members of the LSV designed as a joke, and were modeled on Serbian passports that the Democratic Party of Serbia distributed during the last election campaign,” Canak told Gradjanski List. In a television debate Thursday evening, Ilic accused Vojvodina Assembly Speaker Bojan Kostres of being "a separatist", and of "printing Vojvodina passports that he was distributing to citizens." Kostres is a member of Canak’s LSV. The LSV leader claimed that the Vojvodina passport story had been launched, so that the government could “cover up its own skullduggery and abuse” and divert attention from important issues. “Why did no one mention the Democratic Party of Serbia handing out Serbian passports? Why was no one bothered that the EXIT festival was advertised as 'The State of Exit' and had accreditation in the form of a passport?" "Why has an LSV joke stirred up such controversy? Probably because all those others don’t ask any questions about the Horgos-Pozega concession,” said Canak.
