Serbia could get Schengen Visa center in 2008
She added that the visa issuing procedure would follow the method outlined in the agreement that Serbia and the European Commission initialed in May, stressing that instead of the standard practice that involved embassies, the entire process would take place in the center. There are fifteen states signatories of the Schengen Treaty, including France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain Greece Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Sweden, together with Norway and Iceland that do not belong to the European Union.
The Visa Relaxations Agreement that will come into force on January 1, 2008, will enable facilitation of the visa issuing procedure for businesspeople, students, experts, doctors, lawyers, architects, athletes, artists, culture workers, civil society activists, NGO employees, journalists, members of religious communities and other categories of Serbian citizens.
