Hermes Softlab Serbia exported software products worth EUR 500,000 to the EU and U.S. over the past 9 months. Vladan Anastasijevic, the director of the Kragujevac-based company, said that in the same period the number of employees rose from 18 to 40, primarily young software engineers, in whose education the company invested EUR 140,000. Serbian software on EU, U.S. markets “We plan to open a new office in Novi Sad and employ twenty young programmers there,” he stressed, adding that the company plans to take on even more people in 2008. “Our priorities will remain the same, as we are predominantly oriented towards foreign markets,” said Anastasijevic. Stressing that Hermes Softlab offers insurance companies in Serbia new program solutions recently presented in Belgrade, he added the company is currently working on a project to create a centralized birth and citizenship registry for Montenegro. “We are also working with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in creating software to support the electronic stock exchange,” said Anastasijevic. Hermes Softlab, seated in Slovenia, acquired Kragujevac-based company Virtual Team a year ago and renamed it into Hermes Softlab Serbia.
