Serbia doubles Kosovo funds

Around one fifth of the sum will be used for National Investment Program (NIP) projects in Kosovo.

Speaking at the same session, Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardžić said that Serbia will also “finance its functions in Kosovo and invest there,” according to the government website.

He added this was very important because of the Serbs living in Kosovo, “and so that ethnic Albanians could see that Serbia is serious and invests in its people.”

Samardžić at the same time stressed that the government’s decision to spend in the province was important since it demonstrated to the international community that Serbia had “serious intentions concerning the Kosovo’s financial recovery.”
