Vucic: Progress in investigation of monstrous murder
"Our government is investing a lot of effort in the investigation, primarily War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic as this matter falls under his jurisdiction," Vucic said.He noted that the search for a solution to the issue constitutes a matter of credibility for the country and its reliability as a partner, as well as its capacities to investigate the murder and punish individuals responsible for the crime.
This is a case of a monstrous murder of three brothers who had no guilt or blame for anything, Vucic said and added that they were arrested just because they did not hold visas. After 14 days spent in the detention facility in Prokuplje, they were taken away and murdered in cold blood for no reason, Vucic noted.
The prime minister said that people in Serbia should know the truth about the events in the murder case.
The three brothers were murdered at a police polygon in eastern Serbia in July 1999, immediately upon termination of war operations in Kosovo. They had formerly fought within the Atlantic Brigade of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
