Police arrest shooter after 10-hour standoff

KRALJEVO A man who on Sunday shot and wounded two people near the central Serbian town of Kraljevo has been placed under arrest. Late yesterday, he surrendered to the Serbian police's SAJ unit officers, after a ten-hour standoff. Police arrest shooter after 10-hour standoff The suspect, identified as D.M., had barricaded himself inside a house in the village of Metikos after wounding two people, including a police officer. He first used a pistol to shoot and injure at a man who was delivering him food, and later reached for an automatic rifle to shoot at several police officers who had arrived at the scene, wounding one. Neither of the victims has suffered serious injuries. D.M. has been charged with attempted murder and illegal possession and carrying of arms and explosives. The suspect, identified as D.M., had barricaded himself inside a house in the village of Metikoš after wounding two people, including a police officer.He first used a pistol to shoot and injure at a man who was delivering him food, and later reached for an automatic rifle to shoot at several police officers who had arrived at the scene, wounding one.
Neither of the victims has suffered serious injuries.
D.M. has been charged with attempted murder and illegal possession and carrying of arms and explosives.
