Five arrested for abuse of office

Sombor police has arrested five persons under suspicion of committing several crimes and unlawfully obtaining EUR 4.1mn. All suspects are accused of abuse of office which allowed them to make large financial gain. Five arrested for abuse of office Police Director Milorad Veljovic has said that one suspect is on the run and that one has already been remanded in custody. According to him, Agrocoop Director, Stanisic company Board of Directors member, Stanagro Invest Director and owner Milivoje Pavlovic, Stanisic Director and Board of Directors member Radislav Cmiljanic have been arrested. Agrostan Plus Director Pavle Colakov, Mega Tabak Director Dara Pilipovic and Republic Geodetic Authority’s Real Estate Cadastre Office employee Zlatka Mrdak have also been arrested. Veljovic said that charges would also include Stanisic and Agrocoop Board of Directors President Zoran Copic who is on the run. Charges will also be filed against Agrostan Investment and Alpis plus Director Zoran Radulovic who is already in custody. The police director has explained that the suspects unlawfully transferred ownership of Stanisic company agricultural land even though it was prohibited to alienate and dispose of the land at time. They invested the land as an intangible investment in companies under their control – Agrostan investment and Agrostan plus. The suspect then transferred the ownership of the land to AIK Bank from Nis in order to repay Mega Tabak’s loan.

According to him, Agrocoop Director, Stanišić company Board of Directors member, Stanagro Invest Director and owner Milivoje Pavlović, Stanišić Director and Board of Directors member Radislav Cmiljanić have been arrested.

Agrostan Plus Director Pavle Čolakov, Mega Tabak Director Dara Pilipović and Republic Geodetic Authority’s Real Estate Cadastre Office employee Zlatka Mrdak have also been arrested.

Veljović said that charges would also include Stanišić and Agrocoop Board of Directors President Zoran Ćopić who is on the run.

Charges will also be filed against Agrostan Investment and Alpis plus Director Zoran Radulović who is already in custody.
