IMF mission to arrive in Belgrade

A mission of the IMF is arriving in Belgrade today to conduct the second review of Serbia's economic performance under a EUR 1.2 billion stand-by arrangement.

IMF mission to arrive in Belgrade

The IMF delegation, led by new chief of mission James Roaf, will stay in Serbia until September 1. The official talks should start with a meeting between representatives of the Serbian government and the IMF mission at the National Bank of Serbia and then be continued by experts.

According to statements by Serbian government officials, the talks with the Serbian authorities should focus on public finances and possibilities of increasing pensions and salaries in the public sector, reduced since November 2014.

The IMF mission will analyze the developments concerning financial restructuring plans for Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), Srbijagas and Serbian Railways.
