Serbian currency stronger by 0.7% against euro

The Serbian dinar (RSD) has strengthened against the euro (EUR) by 0.7 percent at the start of the week, said the central bank.

The Serbian dinar (RSD) has strengthened against the euro (EUR) by 0.7 percent at the start of the week, said the central bank. The official middle exchange rate on Mondy is RSD 116.2111 for one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced. Serbian currency stronger by 0.7% against euro

Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank sold a total of EUR 1.27 billion on the interbank foreign exchange market.

This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922, and the lowest on June 4, when one euro was worth RSD 117.6943.

Today, the national currency is 2.5 percent down on this time last month, and 13 percent down on the year.

On Friday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate stood at RSD 92.0630.

The Serbian dinar weakened against the U.S. dollar by 2.8 percent when compared to the level a month ago, and by 22.3 percent if compared to a year ago.
