Govt. subsidizes employment of trainees

The first contracts from a government program of subsidized employment of 10,000 trainees will be signed next week. This was announced on Wednesday by Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic. Govt. subsidizes employment of trainees He said that in the past three weeks the employers applied seeking 5,500 interns, and that it is expected that the number will reach 10,000 in one month. The government will make a decision next week on employing 8,500 people on public works, while the number including Vojvodina will reach 10,000, Dinkic said at the opening of the National Employment Conference, adding that the works will begin in the second half of this year. The minister announced that the government will introduce a new package of measures for maintaining the existing jobs, by granting solvency loans with lower interests. Dinkic pointed out that budget funds for employment this year are bigger that ever totaling RSD 3.5bn, whereas RSD 700mn was allocated for small and medium-sized enterprises.
