Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic says that the government will confirm the new measures to combat the economic crisis by the end of next week. He said that the biggest cutbacks would most likely be made in the sphere of public administration. PM: Govt. to rubber-stamp savings measures Cvetkovic said that a package of measures could be adopted in three to four days’ time, which would be optimal, if “all the measure were available, but we cannot say today exactly which ones will definitely be approved.” He told reporters after a visit to the Metalac boiler factory that the government would use the measures to help lift the burden of the crisis off industry and ordinary citizens, while in terms of investments, there would be a further ten percent saving. “As far as investments are concerned, we will see that the most important ones, such as Corridor 10, do not suffer, but we will also look to cut ten percent there too, when carrying out project assignments,” Cvetkovic said. He said that the government was in constant contact with the International Monetary Fund, which was why he did not want to say anything specific regarding measures for tackling the crisis.
