Fiat, Zastava reps to meet Thursday

A delegation from Fiat, headed by the company's Vice President Stefan Ketter, will arrive in Kragujevac this evening. They will hold a meeting behind closed doors with the Zastava Cars executives on Thursday, the company's director, Zoran Bogdanovic told Tanjug. Fiat, Zastava reps to meet Thursday "We will discuss the possibility for expanding the existing cooperation established three years ago, and one of the topics will be the possibility to assemble another model in this factory, in addition to Fiat Punto [Zastava 10]," Bogdanovic said. He added that the Italian delegation was made up of experts from all sectors - production, supply and development. Bogdanovic said that the visit will take place after previously signed contracts between the two companies, and that "other aspects of cooperation will be reviewed". But he added he did not believe that any concrete conclusions would be made on Thursday. The Zastava factory renewed its cooperation with Fiat three years ago and received the license to assemble the Fiat Punto model, under the name Zastava 10. A new company, Zastava Auto, was established in order to realize this deal. The Kragujevac-based carmaker is slated for privatization, but the government is yet to come up with a date for the tender.
