First casualty in Bahrain due to Iranian attacks


The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain announced this morning that one person was killed in Iranian attacks, marking the first fatality in the island nation since the start of Tehran’s military campaign.

At least 31 killed in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon


The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported that at least 31 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on the south of the country and the capital, Beirut.

According to reports, around 20 people were killed in Beirut’s southern suburbs, while approximately 11 were killed in the south, CNN reports.

Retaliation begins: Israel launches strike on Lebanon


The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out overnight airstrikes on Lebanon, including Beirut, after the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah fired missiles and drones into northern Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned Hezbollah’s move as an “irresponsible act,” while the Israeli military has promised a strong response.

Due to the missiles and drones launched from Lebanon, sirens went off in Haifa and across northern Israel early this morning, after Hezbollah carried out attacks on the country in support of Iran, reports The Times of Israel.

This prompted immediate retaliatory strikes from Israel across Lebanon, including the capital, Beirut.

 

Von der Leyen schedules security meeting today over Iran


European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has called a special security meeting today due to the “current situation in Iran.”

“For regional security and stability, it is of the utmost importance that there is no further escalation through Iran’s unjustified attacks on partners in the region”, von der Leyen said in a statement on X.
