"Wolf" ravages everything in front of it; Order issued: Run, now! PHOTO/VIDEO
A fire called "Wolf" is ravaging parts of California. Residents in the path of the fire were urged to flee, while officials ordered evacuations across the region.
As reported by Newsweek, "Wolf" currently covers about 1,165 hectares in Riverside County.
Evacuation orders are also in effect in surrounding areas due to an "imminent threat to life," according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).
It is recalled that California was destroyed by huge fires in January of this year, in which at least twenty people died, while thousands were left homeless, while thick columns of toxic smoke covered the city.
Most recently, the Ranch and Henderson fires burned hundreds of acres, while the Lake fire broke out around 4 p.m. PT Saturday at Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area in San Bernardino County and spread to 220 acres over the next.
Evacuation orders were issued but were later lifted as firefighters managed to contain the flames.
The fire broke out in the place called Wolf, as it was unofficially named, on Sunday at 3:09 p.m. in the area of Old Bunning Idyllwild Road and Wolfskill Truck Trail south of the town of Bunning.
The California Fire Department described the fire as a vegetation fire and rated it as critical.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
About 300 people are fighting the fire, and they are equipped with four helicopters and 70 fire trucks.
Evacuation orders are in effect, and officials have sent out an alert that reads:
"Imminent threat to life. This is a lawful order, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. The area is legally closed to public access."
In addition to evacuation orders, a number of "evacuation warnings" are in effect.
According to local officials, residents living in the affected areas face a "potential threat to life and/or property. Those who need additional time to evacuate, as well as those with pets and livestock, should leave now."
Areas covered by evacuation warnings include the area south of Highland Springs Avenue, east of Bergamo Avenue and west of the 243 Freeway.
