The semifinal will begin at 3 p.m. Serbian time on Saturday, with a packed and noisy home crowd in Istanbul expected to give Turkey an additional advantage.

Serbia therefore faces an extremely difficult challenge in its bid to reach the European Championship final. With Turkey set to enjoy huge support from the stands, the Serbian players can expect an intense atmosphere.

Serbia has already shown that it has the quality and character to perform in big matches, but against the hosts, the team will need to be at its very best to earn a place in the battle for European gold.

In the other semifinal, Italy will face Poland at 6 p.m. CET.
