Putin signed: Veterans' appeals to rename the airport
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a trip to Volgograd to take part in events in honor of Victory Day, signed a decree changing the name of the city's airport.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, according to Putin's decree, the airport will now be called "Stalingrad".
As the Russian RIA Novosti reported, the governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, asked the president of the Russian Federation to rename the airport "Stalingrad".
Apparently, it was a request of veterans and participants of the war against Ukraine.
Putin then replied that the word of those who asked for it "is the law for him".
"We will do that. As soon as I return to Moscow, the appropriate decree will be prepared and immediately signed," the Russian president said in Volgograd.
As a result, Putin signed the decree shortly before leaving the city.
Other Ukrainian media reports that the Petersburg airport "Pulkovo" will be renamed "Leningrad" for three days during the Victory Day celebration, from May 8 to 10.
