Citizens of Serbia, get ready; urgent warnings will be coming your way today
Showers and thunderstorms expected in Serbia in the evening and during the night towards Thursday will be locally more intense, accompanied by hail, strong or stormy winds and large amounts of precipitation (from 20 to 40mm) in a short time.
As the RHMZ warned, Vojvodina and western Serbia will be most affected.
For specific locations, emergency weather warnings will be issued one to two hours in advance, the RHMZ notes.
The zone of intense showers on Thursday will move to the south and east of Serbia.
Changeable weather today
According to the forecast, today will be changeable weather with longer periods of sunny weather but also unstable with local occurrence of short-term rain or showers with thunder.
At the end of the day and during the night in Vojvodina and western Serbia, precipitation will intensify with a drop in temperature and strong northwesterly winds, so short-term weather conditions are locally possible.
Light and moderate winds will blow, and in the middle of the day in Vojvodina and in the east, occasionally strong northwesterly winds.
Morning temperature from 16 to 21 degrees, and the highest daily temperature from 27 in the north to 34 degrees in the south and east of the country.
In Belgrade today it will be variably cloudy with longer periods of sunny weather, but also unstable, so in some parts of the city short-term rain or local showers with thunder are possible.
In the evening and during the night, precipitation will intensify with a drop in temperature and a strong northwest wind.
The lowest temperature will be from 19 to 21 degrees, and the highest daily temperature around 29.
A drop in temperature
On Thursday, Serbia is expected to be variably cloudy and noticeably cooler in the far north, mostly dry, and in other regions with scattered rain, showers and thunderstorms, which will be more intense in the south and east of the country.
On Friday, the weather will be variable with alternating sunny periods and locally short-term showers with thunderstorms.
From Saturday to Monday, it will be mostly sunny with a sudden increase in temperature, so it will be very warm again, on Monday from 35 to 38 degrees.
On Tuesday, new temporary cloudiness with local occurrence of short-term precipitation and refreshment.
