Vučić from Abu Dhabi: We have fantastic cooperation in multiple fields; This is what makes Serbia great

Vučić attended the opening of Sustainability Week 2026, where he met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

“We will have to turn to artificial intelligence. With the limited knowledge I have, I could speak briefly about it, but I could speak at length about the political significance of artificial intelligence. Major changes have taken place in the world, from the 15th century, when Europe achieved full dominance through scientific discoveries and the exploration of territories, and at that moment China made its first mistake, leading to the absolute victory of the West. These opportunities were always used in the best possible way primarily by the countries of Western Europe, and later by the United States. Everyone sees that a new era is coming, brought about by artificial intelligence. According to the index, we are ranked 39th in the world, much better than we expected,” Vučić said.

He added that this is not enough, because six months of inactivity could cause Serbia to fall to 70th place, and that it must work and learn a great deal, for which Sustainability Week is a good opportunity.

“We are facing two things. One is extraordinary — enormous progress — and the other is people’s fear that they will lose their jobs,” Vučić explained.

“As a state, we must create a framework that encourages the development of artificial intelligence while also guaranteeing that people will not be left without jobs. Three percent of Europe’s energy goes to supercomputers. What is important is that we will not have enough electricity if we keep shutting down sources. We need to build new systems for energy development.”

“It is important to prepare the ground so that the children who come after us can compete with others around the world.”

He added that he had a brief meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, and that he is grateful for the hospitality. He noted that he hopes for good news regarding NIS in the near future.

“We still have a lot of work ahead of us. We shouldn’t burden people with these matters — that is the job of the state. We must increase our capacities, the capacities of EPS, but also conclude contracts with others so that we can secure what we need for our own purposes,” Vučić said.

He also commented on the situation in Greenland and in Iran.

“They are ready for the arrival of another member of the Pahlavi family. We have seen a huge number of Iranians who oppose demonstrations and foreign interventions. The situation is uncertain, but I think many people expect changes to occur. I am not sure about that. As for Greenland, I don’t know what to tell you, except that I can say I am not looking forward to any of this, but I hope that at least some of them will remember 2008 and 1999, when they recognized Kosovo and bombed Serbia. Now that there is no longer unity in the West, suddenly international law matters. Some would say this is cosmic justice — we gain nothing from it — and I am simply afraid of the time we are entering. But people in our country do not need to worry. I will devote enormous energy to preserving peace and our country. The madness we are heading into — who will attack whom — is no longer possible to keep track of. Pandora’s box has been opened and no one can control it anymore,” the President of Serbia explained.

He added that it is important to take care of ourselves and work even harder than we ever have before.

Speaking about tomorrow’s meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vučić said that he is a great leader and a personal friend from whom he has learned a great deal.

“I hate the phrase ‘that’s our money.’ There are countries that have five times more oil and yet are poorer than the Emirates. That shows you how important leadership is. We have fantastic cooperation in many fields, including the military. This has been developing for years. Do not forget that they are investors in Serbian agriculture, the energy sector, Belgrade Waterfront… These are all things that make Serbia essentially great,” the President of Serbia said.

He added that this is a very wise man who has always known how to preserve peace.

“Even when he was under pressure, he always found a solution. And when people are worried, they know that he will find a solution,” Vučić said.

As for the situation in Montenegro, he said that these are political games and tricks in which he does not want to interfere, but that the “struggle of the Serbian people for the Serbian language is completely legitimate.”

“That is their matter and they should decide on it, and the Serbian people who seek protection of their language will always have Serbia’s support in that regard.”

Regarding the arrest of Milan Knežević, he said that Knežević is his friend and that it is obvious the authorities did not like the behavior of Vladislav Dajković, which is why they removed him.

“Sometimes it is better to be the master of the unspoken word than the servant of the spoken one,” Vučić concluded.
