Vučić refused to sign the anti-Russian declaration at the summit in Odessa

Only the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, among the officials of 11 countries attending the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit today in Odessa, did not sign the strongly anti-Russian declaration that was adopted, Sputnik learns.

President Vučić, who visited Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the Russian Special Military Operation, did not agree with the document against Moscow and in that, at least at this anti-Russian summit, he remained alone.

This can be seen in the text itself, where there is no name of Aleksandar Vučić among the listed leaders who stood behind the text.

Thus, Serbia, as the only country in this part of the world that remained consistent in its position of not imposing sanctions on Russia despite demands and pressures, practically distanced itself from the text.

As we have learned, the President of Serbia refused to support the request of the other participants of the Summit because the text emphasizes the request to maintain the existing ones but also to additionally strengthen the sanctions against Russia.

According to information, some other wordings in the document contradict the position that Serbia took in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, especially regarding security aspects and arrangements. That is why Vučić did not stand behind the text, and this can be seen from the fact that he is not on the list of signatories of the document, which Sputnik had access to.
