Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, confirmed that one of the projectiles directly hit a multi-story residential building in the Kovpakivskyi district and expressed concern that people may still be trapped under the rubble, Ukrinform reported.

According to him, at least four residential buildings were damaged in the attack, while three of the injured people are in serious condition.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a guided aerial bomb scored a direct hit between the third and fourth floors, adding that rescue services were on the scene and that four people had so far been successfully evacuated from the rubble.

Zelensky added that Russian strikes were also reported during the evening on a polyclinic in Pavlohrad, as well as on logistics infrastructure in the Kyiv region.

“Ukraine speaks every day about the need to stop such brutal attacks on human life. America has an opportunity right now to send the aggressor a clear message that there will be serious pressure and that the war must end. We expect Lindsey Graham’s proposal to ultimately become law and for its measures to help force Russia to choose peace,” Zelensky concluded.
