RTS still blocked; Committee for Culture in session today about REM
For the fifteenth day, a group of students and citizens have been blocking the buildings of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) in Takovska Street and Košutnjak, preventing public service employees from coming to their workplaces.

Since Thursday morning, the students have not allowed security personnel to enter RTS buildings. Streets around the RTS building in Takovska, as well as Knez Višeslav Street in Košutnjak, are still blocked for traffic.
The intersection of Takovska and Svetogorska streets, as well as the intersection of Ilija Garašanin and Takovska streets are still blocked by containers.

Committee for Culture and Information of the Parliament of Serbia in session today about REM
A session of the Committee for Culture and Information will be held in the Parliament of Serbia today, and two items are on the agenda - repealing the Decision on initiating the procedure for nominating candidates for the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) from November last year and passing a new Decision on initiating the procedure for nominating candidates for the election of members of the REM Council.
The meeting of the Committee is scheduled for 15:00, it was announced on the website of the Parliament of Serbia. The announcement of a new competition for REM Council members was requested by opposition MPs, members of the Committee for Culture and Information, and previously by students in the lockout who have been blocking RTS since April 14. The Council of REM has nine members.
The mandate of REM Council members expired on November 5 of last year, and on November 23, the Parliamentary Board made a decision to call for candidates for REM Council members.
In January 2025, seven candidates for REM Council members withdrew their candidacies.
